Xiva

Description

Xiva will be an exclusive pet for those that held on to their Prime Eternals! On the first day of summer, all of Massina gathers to celebrate the Xiva Festival, in honor of these mischievous fire spirits that can be found deep within the underground pits of Mt. Volcanus. Needless to say, only the boldest of people in Massina have access to this pet, and they are usually passed on from generation to generation.[1]

Now the descendants of these courageous cats can be found as pets - but they only bond with the most loyal and worthy of people. A Xiva can live for hundreds of years, so they must be very picky about who they associate with. They are intelligent and inquisitive; often causing mayhem by getting into situations they can’t get out of– but a home blessed by a Xiva is said to experience unusual luck and warmth among its members.[2]

The Xiva Festival

As the days grow longer and the hot winds return to the Villebrews, red and gold ribbons and flags begin to emerge all over Massina City. Children start wearing masks with pointed ears and fiery whiskers. Yellow paper lanterns decorated with images of a mischievous cat-like creature swing overhead. And there’s a sense of growing excitement, until finally, on the eve of the first day of summer, all of Massina takes to the streets to celebrate the Xiva Festival! The festival is held every year in honor of the brave and mischievous fire spirits found deep in the underground mazes of Mt. Volcanus. During the Long Dark Year when the Titans of ice and darkness invaded Massina, the brave Xiva rallied and battled to bring sun and warmth back to the world. Now the city commemorates this battle with special tournaments, cook-outs, and music– all hosted by the Cauldron of Fire.[2]
